Medicine Cards Just for Today
by Jamie Sams and David Carson; illustrated by Angela Werneke

This is a small, sweet deck of cards, all depicting animals native to North America. My husband bought me this little deck. I had found just the book from the full-size "Medicine Cards" set, also by Jamie Sams, at a used book store. He thought this deck might work in place of the original deck. Although I haven't done many actual spreads with this deck, I do enjoy it when I just feel like pulling a card for quick inspiration. These are kind of like daily affirmations, or reminders ...

Medicine Cards Just for Today - Otter Medicine Cards Just for Today - Snake Medicine Cards Just for Today - Dolphin
Otter says: Laugh at your antics ~ Balance work and play ~ Reclaim vulnerability
Snake says: Transmute all poisons ~ Shed the skin of the past ~ Honor the change in progress
Dolphin says: Breathe ~ Take in life force ~ Accept the gift of usable energy ~ Touch the invisible

There is no accompanying book for these cards, as their simple messages are printed right on the front of each card. I have pulled out my "Medicine Cards" book in the past, to gain more insight about certain animals and their messages.

This is a cute deck, although I can't see using it for much more than a little bit of simple wisdom in the middle of a hectic day - which is probably what the original purpose of the deck was!
